Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Preamble

At the moment, most of the wikis have an help desk (en · de · it · ... ) or many similar places designed by the community to reach human beings with little or no experience about MediaWiki.

  • the user has not noticed the meaning of the signature button
  • the user has not remembered it

Tired of the constant lack of users' signature, communities designed weird automagic systems to help users, often prefilling the textarea with weird wikitext, creating something that can be even more complicated to use for a newbie (de · it).

At the moment MediaWiki supports some HTTP parameters to do some magic things, for example to create a new section.
